The TSA established a dynamic global screening network to support the detection of terrorists. Its mission is to serve as the authoritative source in coordinating the use of terrorist identification information and consolidating the approach of screening for all who act to prevent terrorist activities. It maintains a database, the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB), the aim of which is to contain information about all known or suspected terrorists, and makes this information available to a number of different government agencies, including the federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies, the US State Department, the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Transportation Security Administration.
